In September 2023 Zachary Alam was convicted of eight felonies related to his activities inside of the Capitol on January 6. He would be sentenced to 8 years in prison and 3 years of supervised release, but in January 2025, Alam was released after receiving a pardon from President Donald Trump.

Alam's actions inside the Capitol stand out. In Alam's sentencing memorandum, prosecutors say that Alam intentionally put himself in front of the mob as they attempted to breach the Speaker's Lobby Doors. "I'm going to fuck you up." Alam yelled at officers then shattered multiple windows with his fist. Alam was arrested later that month after his mother helped the FBI in identifying him

During Alam's sentencing, WUSA9 reported that Alam told the court, "Not only are we expecting a pardon, we are demanding a pardon."

A few weeks after Alam's released, J6ers Josh Macias and Ray Chambers accounced that they were building a group home for former incarcerated J6ers in Richmond's Northside neighborhood. Zachary Alam was identified as one of those living in their Safe Haven program by Adam Villarreal who has since moved out of the area. Villarreal stated that he had moved out of the Richmond facility due to "unstable and unsafe conditions." Villarreal had been wanted by the FBI for his actions on January 6 but never charged.

Villarreal said that Alam wondered 100 miles away and was picked up by police in Washington DC and placed at a hospital.

Oh May 9, Alam was arrested in Henrico County. Alam was arrested for burglary and destruction of property related to a May 8 incident in Varina. Alam's charge includes entering a house at night and carries a class 3 felony which carries a penalty of 5-20 years in prison. The location of the alleged burglary was 7 miles away from the J6er group house.

Alam has his next court appearance is scheduled on June 24.

Case information for Zachary Alam's burglary charge.

Another J6er that has claimed residence at the J6er group house is Thomas Tatum. Tatum is a former Mississippi resident who was charged for alleged January 6 activity, some even celebrated his arrest. Tatum referred to the location as a "time bomb." Tatum said that the Safe Haven was promoted on social media by Adam Villarreal to generate clout and donations. Tatum says that the house was "an unregulated, unsafe environment filled with active substance abusers, untreated trauma victims." Tatum says he was violently assaulted by Alam before his departure.

Tatum had been excited with a media room in the living space in Richmond but since then, the dream has fallen apart.

Henrico County Commonwealth Attorney Office and On Your Six Foundation were contacted for comment but did not respond.
